MetaNova is a health access coordination platform. Emergency transport is provided by independent, licensed ambulance operators; consultations are given by registered medical practitioners enrolled with the National Medical Commission or a State Medical Council; treatment is provided by hospitals; care at home is given by independent home-care agencies, nurses, caregivers and attendants. Each is responsible for the care it delivers. MetaNova verifies them before they join and coordinates the case — it does not practise medicine.

Teleconsultation has limits

Consultations through Doctor Now follow the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020. A doctor may decide that a condition cannot be assessed properly by video and advise an in-person examination or emergency care. Certain medicines cannot be prescribed through teleconsultation under those guidelines.

No guarantee of availability or outcome

• We cannot guarantee that an ambulance, doctor or carer will be available at a particular time, or a particular arrival time. Any estimate shown is an estimate.
• Hospital admission is the hospital's decision.
• No one can guarantee a clinical outcome, and MetaNova does not.

Help is never held back for payment

In an emergency, help is arranged first. You will never be asked to pay before help is dispatched.

Automated tools

Where software supports triage or decisions, its output is informational, is identified as software-generated and is subject to human review. We do not make decisions with legal effect on you by automated means alone.
